European Cruise Itineraries

Posted in News by admin on March 11th, 2010

Oceania Cruises has just announced new Europe cruise itineraries for 2011 and these sailings will be open for booking beginning Wednesday, March 10. Each time this line releases new itineraries, some categories begin to sell out within hours.
In fact, while most of our customers book their cruises 60 to 90 days in advance to secure the best rates, Oceania enthusiasts book an average of 9 months in advance to ensure their space onboard the line’s highly popular, 5.5-star ships. To guarantee your spot on one of Oceania’s future cruises, I’d recommend booking as early as possible.

OctopusTravel

Oceania’s 2011 Europe voyages include itineraries in the Baltic and Scandinavia, the Greek Isles and Eastern Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the Western Mediterranean, ranging in length from 10 to 18 days.

English Channel Ferry Companies By V Kullar

Posted in News by admin on February 3rd, 2010

Ferries are a great way to get around Europe from England. English Ferries allow you to indulge in the beautiful sceneries and ‘tranquil nature’ that Europe has to offer. Moreover, English ferries are cheap and can be less time consuming then other options such as air travel and road.

There are many English Channel ferries that operate from England to France, Ireland, Spain and other European countries. One advantage of using a ferry is that you can take you car with you. This allows you to move around freely once you reach your destination and you can also save money avoiding car rentals.

Brittany Ferries offer services from England to France across the English Channel. Brittney Ferries have a range of vessels that can also accommodate vehicles. You can choose to travel during the day or at night. The ferries have a wide range of accommodation options including luxury suites. There are also many dining and entertainment options onboard.

They also offer a range of accommodation from luxury hotels to camp sites. P&O ferries also offer travelers a wide range of onboard entertainment together with dancing and music. The ferries also have duty free shopping and a range of restaurants and bars onboard.

Condor Ferries specialize in sailing across the English Channel to France. They depart from a range of ports including Portsmouth and Poole. Condor ferries are smaller than most other larger companies, carrying around 500 people. They however have two modern fast ferries that can travel up to 38 knots, that’s twice as fast as conventional ferries. Onboard you will find duty free shopping a variety of entertainment options.

Vacations To Go NewsLetter

Posted in News by admin on December 31st, 2009

Before I get to today’s newsletter, I wanted to let you know that Norwegian Cruise Line has slashed rates on a variety of 7-night cruises departing between now and July 2010, exclusively for Vacations To Go customers. Click here to see a list of these special rates. Book by January 6.

It’s the time of year when we naturally think of things new and old, so what better occasion is there to announce what the cruise lines have in store for us in 2010?
In 2010, nine ships will embark on their maiden voyages for nine different cruise lines. All are new builds. That’s not counting Silversea’s Silver Spirit, which made its debut just last week, or the Disney Dream, which is set to launch in January 2011.
As is always the case when new ships hit the market, all of this new inventory will ensure a continuing supply of deep discounts — on virtually all ships — for Vacations To Go customers, especially those who can wait to book within 90 days of departure.
Below are some highlights of each ship launching in the next 13 months, plus Silver Spirit, including links to more information, departure dates and discounts. If you are interested in being among the first passengers on any of these vessels, I recommend calling us as soon as possible as the first sailing of any new-build is generally in very high demand.
Silver Spirit, Silversea — December 23, 2009 — 540 passengers
The Silver Spirit will offer the utmost in luxury and indulgence at sea, with all-suite accommodations that are the largest in the Silversea fleet. Ninety-five percent of suites on this 6-star ship will feature private teak verandas. Guests will be treated to champagne upon arrival, and they’ll find their suites adorned with fresh fruit and flowers, a stocked beverage cabinet, European bath amenities, robes, slippers and other personalized touches. Passengers will have an opportunity to rejuvenate in the ship’s spa, which will feature relaxation areas, a sauna, steam rooms and a whirlpool. Or choose to browse through the library, visit the Internet cafe or peruse designer collections in the onboard boutiques. The Silver Spirit will also offer a number of dining options — from elegant and intimate to relaxed and casual — and evenings will be highlighted by productions in the show lounge. Costa Deliziosa, Costa — February 5, 2010 — 2,828 passengers
Billed as one of the "diamonds" of the Costa fleet, the 4.5-star Costa Deliziosa will feature marble, mother-of-pearl and Murano glass accents, beautiful furniture and breathtaking art collections throughout the ship. Onboard entertainment will include a race car simulator, a 4-D movie theater, a roller rink and a golf simulator. The Deliziosa will also feature the Samsara Spa, which has become a popular feature on several other Costa ships. Spanning two decks and boasting panoramic views, the spa will provide its clients with the ultimate in relaxation. Though the inaugural sailing is still available, the second sailing of this ship is sold out. For ship info, click here. For dates and prices, click here.

Allure of the Seas, Royal Caribbean — December 12, 2010 — 5,400 passengers

With 14 towering decks, the vessel will build on the style of other Disney ships with an early 20th century design mixed with state-of-the-art technology. One of the technological highlights, for the first time in the cruise industry, inside cabins will have outside views! Inside staterooms will each have a porthole-shaped, flat-screen monitor on the wall, which will receive real-time footage of the sea or port from high-definition cameras mounted along the outside of the ship. Cruises in 2010 By David Edbrooke-Stainer

Posted in News by admin on December 10th, 2009

A cruise is the ultimate in self-indulgent holidays. Wonderful food is available twenty-four hours a day. On-board entertainment for every taste is available, including casinos, bars, lounges, nightclubs, and coffee bars. Fitness options include fitness centres, swimming, walking the promenade deck, and shuffleboard, with some liners offering ice-skating rinks, rock-climbing and virtual surfing in a flow pool. For those interested in relaxation and bodily pampering, there are hot tubs, spas, and of course, deck chairs.

There are several advantages to a cruise over other holiday options such as a coach tour. A cruise offers the opportunity to visit other countries or cities in a comfortable fashion, without the nuisance of unpacking and packing, and toting your luggage about every day or two. No more forgetting your shampoo or toothbrush at the last stop, and having to find a chemist to replace it at the next. Unpack once, and stay in the same room for the duration of your trip. Be as busy or as relaxed as you please. Sign up for shore excursions if you would like, or stay on the ship, eat and relax.

Some of the specifics for 2010 from the major liners include these suggestions. P & O is offering a new programme featuring interviews, workshops, and talks on the Tate Talks Cruises. Other innovative options are Music Festivals at Sea, and Family Choice Cruises, especially planned to fall during school holidays.

Cunard’s Queen Victoria will be making her first British Isles voyage in 2010, stopping at cities such as Edinburgh and Belfast. The Queen Mary 2 will be offering 21 transatlantic crossings, and a trans-Canadian fly cruise, including a new package which can include a train trip across the Canadian Rockies, a trip to Barbados, Disneyworld, or Miami, or an exclusive option to see Las Vegas. N

Norwegian Cruise Lines remains a popular choice, offering cruising on the fjords as well as trips to Mediterranean destinations such as Venice and the Greek Islands. Updated facilities, including an ice-bar, appeal to younger families and newbie cruisers, as do their budget plans.

Princess Cruises is adding seven new ports of call to their roster for cruises in 2010, including Nice, Cephalonia, and Koper. They will be returning to Tangiers and Consanta also. On all these cruises, as well as Scandinavia, Russia, and the Holy Lands, Princess offers plenty of entertainment and their popular flexible dining options.

For those who prefer the traditional elegance of formal dining on a classic ship, Celebrity liners focus on culinary excellence and pampering at their spas.

Cruises for 2010 are available now at early-bird discounts. Now is a great time to plan your cruise, and lock in your price.
